Jay Martin is the School Safety & Security Director with the Nebraska Department of Education. He returned to his home state of Nebraska in 2020 after 24 years in Colorado and retiring from his Law Enforcement career. While in Colorado he was a D.A.R.E. officer of the year in 2009. While in law enforcement, he developed partnerships with the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO), Internet Crimes against Children (ICAC), human trafficking task forces, movie producers, authors, and has ghost written on digital best practices. He has been a teacher in Omaha Public Schools and other districts in Nebraska and Colorado. His career has been committed to education school communities.
