Stuart Public Schools updates student pickup procedures
The School Safety Committee developed this plan to protect every student.
The previous three-line system ends now. Drivers will use a two-lane system instead. Staff members will place orange cones to direct traffic flow. These changes take effect immediately.
Safety requires focus. Drive slowly. Watch for children. Use extreme caution when you merge between lanes.
The Committee states, "Student safety is our priority."
Efficiency depends on cooperation. Keep your vehicle visible to staff members. This visibility speeds up the process for everyone. Are you willing to wait an extra minute to keep a child safe?
Patience is necessary during this transition. Expect delays as everyone learns the new pattern.
You have choices. Some parents prefer to avoid the line entirely. Park your car further away. Walk to the school entrance to meet your child. This reduces congestion at the curb.
"We appreciate parent support during these improvements," the Committee added.
Check your surroundings before you move your vehicle. Make sure you see every student near your car!
Follow these steps for a smooth afternoon:
--Enter the two-lane queue.
--Follow the cone path.
--Stay in your vehicle unless you are parked in a designated spot.
--Watch for staff signals.
Safety is a shared responsibility. Your careful driving protects lives.
Please contribute to a safer school zone today!
