"Lather and Nothing Else" is a suspenseful psychological story about a barber who faces a gripping moral dilemma when his sworn enemy, Captain Torres, walks into his shop for a shave. Torres is a cruel military commander known for brutally hunting and torturing local rebels, while the barber is secretly a member of the rebel underground. With the captain sitting completely helpless in his chair, the barber realizes he has an opportunity to kill his enemy and become a rebel hero. As he lathers the beard and begins to shave, his mind races with intense internal conflict, debating whether to commit political assassination or uphold his duty as an honorable craftsman. Ultimately, he decides that he does not want to become a murderer or start an endless cycle of revenge, choosing instead to stain his hands only with lather, and nothing else.

The SPS 8th grade created took this literature piece and combined it with creativity and scientific research to create a safe, school appropriate razors to shave a water balloon as cleanly as possible without popping it. Steady hands prevailed and all balloons survived.

Position Details:
• Minimum of 4 hours per day, with the potential for 6–8 hours per day for the right candidate
• Flexible scheduling available
• Food preparation
• Serving meals
• Cleaning and general kitchen support
• Experience welcome, but not required—training provided!

The Cross Country team ran at the Burke Invite today. In the 4,000 meter boys race, Cayden Smith earned 1st place. Jake Kohle placed 2nd and Jaxon Kohle 10th. In the girls 5,000 meter race Annie Ludwig placed 13th. In the junior high boys race, John Ludwig earned 1st place. Jett Kohle was 7th and Jase Wolf was 14th.
